What we learned from hiring a professional vetting firm...

After an artist was flagged as "high risk," we hired Kroll to understand why.

We're kicking off this week's take with one of our highest-viewed Dear Jacky pieces to date! We're also shocked that there's only like, 4 weeks left until Christmas. Send us your cool creative gift guides pls, we'd love to see what the hip people are getting.

Dear Jacky Post #4

Earlier this year we lost a large-ish job because one of our artists failed a social media vetting check. We only found out after the contract was signed and the kickoff call was already on the calendar.

The artist hadn't done anything terrible, but that wasn't the point. What rattled us was that we had zero clue about what clients were looking for when vetting an artist's online presence (or that they were even looking in the first place).

So, we did what any slightly paranoid team would do: hired a vetting firm to check ourselves. While we can't publish the exact report publicly, we did get some really interesting findings that we thought were worth sharing. If you work in any creative field, this one is a must read, as the vetting game is very real.
