PencilBooth Take #47

Take on the three principal causes

It's been exciting times at JWHQ over the last few weeks, with new artists from our SS24 season being officially launched, announced and celebrated across our channels! In case you've missed any, here's everyone we've announced (so far!) rounded-up in one particularly good-looking take.

Lauren Martin

You've probably seen Lauren's signature anthropomorphic characters bringing joy and humour to clothing, merch and magazines, as well as on posters plastered everywhere from the subway to Times Square! Inspired by old cartoons, cookbooks and NYC, Lauren does her best work when she's had a little treat. And honestly, who doesn’t? So go on, treat yourself and check out her full folio at the link.

Micke Lindebergh

Coming from a childhood of drawing flying monster cats, a stint in a pop band, and wielding his weapon of choice, a Posca pen - Micke brings even more colour to our '24 season! Click through for a selection of lush palettes and playful compositions which feel like summertime.

Sören Selleslagh

Sören thrives in creating vibrant and energetic 2D, 3D and animated work, often playing with perspective and geometry in novel ways. Fun fact: when he's not illustrating, you can find him training for Ironman, making him a very enviable combination of arty and sporty! Jump to his page for more energising visuals.

Kelly Llanos

Kelly's work is a celebration of people and their stories, often blending reality with a burst of fun to make everyday moments a bit special. Her process is guided by intention and intuition and involves lots of brainstorming, lots of colour play and lots of coffee. Feel the buzz at her full folio.

Sebastian Cestaro

Seba's illustrations sit in the realm between abstraction and surrealism, depicting prismatic, alternative worlds in which warped shapes and human figures co-exist. With a knack for distilling inspiration from freestyle word associations and the random pages of books and magazines, Seba is always exploring new ways to take his art in unexpected directions. Step into Seba's page for more trippy goodness.

Jerry-Lee Bosmans

We can’t forget about Jerry-Lee Bosmans, whose work was so hypnotising we had to bend our seasonal intake rules and sign him at the end of last year. Do your peepers a favour and view more of Jerry's folio via the link.

Feed the birds

Each season we invite a different JW artist to create a set of images that we scattered across our website to mark the occasion. A big thank you to Georgia Perry for this round!

We need more calm companies
Over on LinkedIn, Jeremy posted this gem of an article about the need for more calm companies. It's our link of the week!
Steven Siegel Takes Us Back in Time with 80s Images of New York
The new Vampire Weekend is on heavy rotation in our office. We're especially loving the cover artwork from photographer Steven Siegel's photos of New York in the 80's.
Aer Fit Pack 3 Review (2 Weeks of Use)
Bags Bags Bags! There are TOO MANY BAGS out there. We're looking for a good gym bag. This seems good? But how would you know unless you watched at least 12 video reviews of bags. Enough, there should be one bag. But do you have a recommendation? Let us know!

That's all for now! We can't wait to create heaps of new work with these exceptional talents, so if you've got a project brewing (or a bag recommendation), hit us up!
