Introducing our latest newsletter - Out of Commission

Here at JWHQ we are always have our eyes on the latest and greatest illustration and animation projects. Inspired by some great niche blogs like The Dieline or Brand New, we were always surprised nobody was doing the same for commercial illustration.

We actually tried something similar around 15 years ago called Scampd (here's proof! and here!) but it was much harder to find the newest work than it is now, so we thought we'd give it a shot again.

As the latest Jacky Winter Venture, Out of Commission will feature a regular roundup of the week's best commissioned illustration and animation projects. Of course we'll showcase some JW talent when appropriate, but this is really a much broader survey of the entire industry and we hope it can become a useful resource.

New Artist: Josh Patterson

Please join us in welcoming illustrator Josh Patterson (@joshpttrsn) to the JW’25 roster! Based in London, Josh plays with isometric perspectives, moody depth of field, cozy lighting and ultra-fine keylines to create captivating illustrations. Inspired by the small details in day-to-day life, as well as scenic snapshots from his travels, Josh does his best work in the late evening and very early hours of the morning with his favourite vinyl spinning in the background. Meet the Team: Jeremy Wortsman

It's finally time to meet the JW behind JW - enter Jacky Winter founder and director, Jeremy Wortsman! 

Despite almost playing his boss card to get out of this post and being the owner-operator of the loudest smoothie blender known to man, Jeremy's big ideas and big heart have seen him become a valued mentor and friend to hundreds of commercial artists and creatives worldwide. He's been a vital force in the blossoming of countless individual careers and in overseeing Jacky Winter's global presence and growth, always leading with a level of kindness and generosity that sets an example for everyone he works with. 

When Jeremy's not Jacky-Wintering or having some sort of big hair moment, he's also an ice hockey player, meditator, tech nerd and bagel enthusiast whose micro obsessions have included everything from velour tracksuits to golf anime to stand-up paddle boarding.
